OK. I really really like this yarn. I like working with it, I like the good stitch definition, its affordable price and last but not least, I like the feel of this yarn against my skin. It does not feel like a super soft, angora or cashmere kind of a yarn, but rather like cool, moisture wicking cotton and firm but not scratchy fabric. It is very similar to Cascade Sierra, you could probably substitute one for the other, even though Cotton Fleece might be a slightly finer weight, which makes it a perfect material for spring and summer sweaters. Wait, it gets better. Cotton Fleece is machine washable and dryable. After having great experience with mashine washing Cascade Sierra, I threw a swatch of Cotton Fleece in the washer. First I washed it on a fairly harsh setting (heavy setting with warm water and then extra dry setting). After that I noticed a slight color change, which might have been natural according to the information on the skein label (Brown Sheep recommends washing the garment with vinegar at first to help stabilize the color). I made another swatch. This time I was gentler and choose cold water and low heat setting in the dryer. I let the still slightly damp swatch airdry and the result was perfect. My swatch became slightly softer, the stitches evened out and there were no changes in the color or texture.

Both Cascade Sierra and Cotton Fleece might become my favorite yarns for spring tops, lightweight cardigans and projects that require a good stitch definition but patterns and cables too complex for pure cotton.
